  3. This image shows the uniform high uptake seen in Graves' disease with an area of reduced uptake (ΓÇÿcoldΓÇÖ area) in the inferior pole of the right thyroid lobe. The incidence of malignancy in a solitary ΓÇÿcoldΓÇÖ nodule in a thyrotoxic gland is greater than that in a euthyroid gland.
